"The first one I seen I said, 'Can't work.' [He laughs.] You know, to have it fastened in the center and walk in a circle and then the sprinklers put a little water in the center and a lot out in the end? Well, that was all through technology. They made bigger sprinklers and some of them on real rough ground where they had to go over hills
"With rough ground that's the only way you can go. And now, you know, it's proven fact that you can get by with a lot less water with a pivot. I had a high-pressure system, which covered probably 40 feet wide, 20 feet on each side."
