"Dissent's okay, you know, as long as it's constructive dissent. I guess it's, 'God bless America. Freedom of speech.' And, even Jane Fonda, I think, recently came out with somewhat of an apology. And I think some of what we had back hen was destructive dissent. To me, that was wrong. But you know, I keep looking back and reminding myself that that's America. And like it or not, we all have the right to do that as long as it's kept within legal bounds."

Don Freeman was born in York, Nebraska, in 1934. As a kid, he worked alongside his dad at the York Foundary. He attended college in Colorado before graduating from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a degree in business administration. At UNL, he took ROTC, Reserve Officer Training Corps, courses and served in the reserve between the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He helped manage the Foundary until it was sold to a larger corporation where Don worked as a sales manager. In the early 1990s, he returned to York to manage Agriproducts, Inc. In 1994, he bought the company which manufactures tractor tank mounts, deep tillage implements, chemical application tool bars, grain handling elevators and accessories.
