"Yes, I do. I was in Camp Funston, Kansas, laying on my bunk. I was in the service. I was in the horse calvary, and I was laying on my bunk when that came over the radio.
"I had about two months left to be in the service. And I said, 'Well that goes down the drain. I'll be in for the duration.' And so I was in for four years and seven months. And I volunteered for one year, you see, that's what the draft started out to be."
