"Well, there was the Tiecken boys. And my dad, he was working for the county, and I would ride down to the county. He was pumping gravel for the city or county of York. And we found a watermelon patch out in the middle of a cornfield where we'd set our fishlines out. And when they got ripe, well of course them boys and me was all in the CC camp. We had these great big blue duffel bags. And we'd take them and go over there and put watermelons in and we'd float them across the river and bring them home."
