"It was run by a waterfall. The water would come through on Lincoln Creek and from the lake it would go over the waterwheel and the waterwheel would run the grinder… We'd just take a team of horses and the wagon and put in what wheat we needed to grind for flour. My mother used that to bake… They put it in the grinder and it would grind it and we'd get it back into bags and we'd take it home that way. And sometimes we worked on a share basis. We'd do something with that for the neighbors, and they'd do something for us."
