"I think the [money from selling] cream and eggs was probably the biggest income we had… We always separated our cream and then you took it, when you got your can full, towns around here were all open on Wednesday and Saturday nights, all winter and summer, they were always open on Wednesday and Saturday nights. Every small town was open those nights, and that's when you took your cream and eggs to town. And you took your eggs, and a lot of times you traded eggs for groceries. You got a little bit more for your eggs that way. And also for your cream."
